Ten Years of Cargo Day, One Idea, USD 20 Million and an Industry that Keeps Showing Up.

On 30 September 2026, more than 500 guests from over 150 shipping and trading companies gathered for the 10th anniversary of Mercy Ships Cargo Day.

When Tim Webb launched Cargo Day in 2016, Riverlake had the privilege of sitting on the founding committee alongside Tim, and we have been on board ever since. This year, 12 colleagues from our Geneva, Rotterdam and Dubai offices, Deep Sea and Barging, came together to celebrate the milestone.

A decade later:
– USD 20 million raised for Mercy Ships
– More than USD 2.5 million for Cargo Day 2025 alone, from 93 companies
– USD 785,550 raised on the night, to be doubled by Mercy Ships donors in December
– USD 550: the cost of one life-transforming surgery

What makes us proud is not the figure. It is seeing brokers, charterers, owners, agents and more, sit at the same table for the same cause.

Thank you to Tim Webb for the vision, to David Walker and the Geneva Committee for carrying it forward, to the Cargo Day committees in Geneva, London, Houston, Dubai and Singapore who now bring it around the world, thank you to our customers and to the Mercy Ships volunteers who do the real work.

Cargo Day 2026 launches on 4 November 2026. Riverlake will be on board. We hope you will be too.
